Students ready to take their math skills to the next level can enroll in AP Calculus AB (A)—a rigorous, college-level course designed to build a strong foundation in advanced mathematics. This course mirrors the first semester of a college calculus class and aligns with the College Board’s AP® Calculus AB framework, offering students an exceptional opportunity to earn college credit while still in high school.

Throughout the semester, students explore key concepts such as limits, continuity, derivatives, methods of finding derivatives, and applications of derivatives. Each topic emphasizes both understanding and application, helping students see how calculus connects to real-world problems in science, engineering, and beyond.

Learning takes place through interactive lessons, multimedia presentations, an online textbook, and the use of graphing utilities that allow students to visualize complex concepts. Students will practice critical problem-solving strategies, participate in discussions, and build a portfolio of work that demonstrates their progress and understanding.

This course also includes targeted preparation for the AP Calculus AB exam, including a practice assessment designed to build confidence and readiness for test day. By the end of the course, students will be well-equipped with the analytical and mathematical skills required to succeed in higher education and STEM-related careers.

About Harmony Online Learning

Female Student With Backpack

Harmony Online Learning provides students with the flexibility to learn beyond the traditional classroom setting. The program is ideal for those looking to advance academically, supplement current studies, recover credits, or explore personal academic goals—all while completing coursework anytime, anywhere.

Students gain access to the Learning Management System (LMS) on the first day of instruction. Late enrollees receive access within 24 hours of enrollment. Courses follow the Harmony Online Learning calendar and operate on a semester schedule. Late enrollment is permitted as long as at least 30 school days remain to complete course requirements. Students may accelerate their pace to finish early, however progress and completion reports are issued at the end of each marking period to ensure academic integrity.

Learners benefit from live chat support and the option to schedule one-on-one sessions with instructors for individualized assistance. Progress and final reports are shared with students, parents, and school success coordinators as applicable. Final grades are determined by the student’s home campus based on their local policies.
