Students who enroll in Physics A embark on a fascinating exploration of how the physical world works—using a few powerful concepts, equations, and assumptions to explain the universe around us. Designed for high school learners, this course emphasizes connecting physics principles to real-world experiences and everyday phenomena.

Throughout the semester, students focus on understanding motion in one and two dimensions, as well as exploring forces, work and energy, momentum and collisions, circular motion, and gravitation. The course also introduces the laws of thermodynamics, helping students grasp how energy is transferred and transformed in the natural world.

A key feature of Physics A is its hands-on learning approach. About 40 percent of the course consists of engaging virtual labs that encourage experimentation and discovery. Many activities use simple household materials—such as rulers, marbles, string, and paper—so students can bring scientific concepts to life through accessible, practical investigations.

By the end of the course, students will have developed a deeper appreciation for how physics governs everything from falling objects to planetary orbits. The skills gained—critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical reasoning—prepare students for advanced science courses and future STEM studies.

About Harmony Online Learning

Female Student With Backpack

Harmony Online Learning provides students with the flexibility to learn beyond the traditional classroom setting. The program is ideal for those looking to advance academically, supplement current studies, recover credits, or explore personal academic goals—all while completing coursework anytime, anywhere.

Students gain access to the Learning Management System (LMS) on the first day of instruction. Late enrollees receive access within 24 hours of enrollment. Courses follow the Harmony Online Learning calendar and operate on a semester schedule. Late enrollment is permitted as long as at least 30 school days remain to complete course requirements. Students may accelerate their pace to finish early, however progress and completion reports are issued at the end of each marking period to ensure academic integrity.

Learners benefit from live chat support and the option to schedule one-on-one sessions with instructors for individualized assistance. Progress and final reports are shared with students, parents, and school success coordinators as applicable. Final grades are determined by the student’s home campus based on their local policies.
